This PR adds badges to the repository README.md
Codecov wasn't properly set up in the CI. This has been code, so a report is now generated and in theory codecov can read the link - and the badge should work when merged.
Note the DOI badge is currently not rendering on the branch README, I think this is because I had a broken version which is still cached. This should be fixed (both links work) so will merge and see if it works.
