• Make sure you are assigned to an issue before you submitting a PR for it
• Before submitting a PR, please check that there is not an existed open pr for this issue
• Please build and test your PR before submitting
• A screen recording of your working changes, especially for UI fixes, would be great!

I’m interested in contributing to OpenMetadata during the hackathon. I have experience working with backend systems, APIs, and DevOps tools (Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud).

I checked the current good-first-issues but most seem to be either already assigned or in progress.

Could you please suggest or point me to a few unassigned issues that align with backend/API or data observability areas?

Happy to start immediately and submit a PR quickly 🚀

hey @PubChimps Hi! I'm participating in the WeMakeDevs × OpenMetadata OUTATIME Hackathon.

I've already started contributing — working on:

• Issue Custom Auto-Classification Recognizers #26664 (Custom Auto-Classification Recognizers)
• Issue Auto Classify unstructured data #26665 (Auto Classify unstructured data)
• Issue Governance -> Metrics "docs" links goes to a 404 page #27436 (Governance docs 404 fix)

Built a full governance engine on top of OpenMetadata 1.4.7 with PII detection, DPDP 2023 compliance, and
auto-tagging. Excited to contribute upstream!
