Thank you, Christoph! I already have this fix in a commit that also updates the recommended version and download link to 2.7.2, but this is included with updates for using the Jython and helper library add-ons. Which have not gotten the attention of a maintainer and which I'd really like to get into 2.5.5. Your input for these and openhab/openhab-core#1319 would be very much appreciated!

Hi Scott. Sry for disappointing you over and over again by not responding to your posts. I appreciate your eagerness to get things done.

To be honest - I have to admit that I just started working with NGRE by trying to migrate some rules in my own prod system. Believe me or not, I am a real noob in this topic. But OH3 is coming and it is getting more and more important and I need to get familiar with it.
