When a journey's application.id is updated the Kafka state directories and the internal topics of the previous application.id remain. This is a CircleCI step which can be added to build pipelines to cleanup the Kafka state post deployment. The
preview-modeflag can be specified to sanity check/preview what the step will do before enabling it in your pipeline
