Technical Limitations
Most technical limitations/issues that may occur from Winlator will most likely happen once a downloaded game is launched using Pluvia!
Winlator container settings has been added since v1.2.0. There are a couple of ways to configure containers.
You can customize the default container settings which will affect any game that has not been launched or had its settings editted.
- Go to the application settings (By tapping on your profile icon)
- In the "Emulation" settings group, you have two options
- Modify Default config
- Box 64 Presets
- With these two settings items, it will open up a full screen dialog to dial in any settings.
- Any of the settings applied to the default config will be the default settings for any game that has not been launched or had its settings editted.
- The second option lets you view, modify, or create Box 64 presets. These presets can then be chosen to be used by the game config, and of course a default one can be appointed in the default config discussed earlier.
- Launch Pluvia and let the library load
- Scroll or use Search to find your game, then click on it.
- Press the
3 dotsbutton right underneath the artwork and choose "Edit container" - If you have not launched a game yet and have not also editted a game's config yet, you will be prompted to install a component before the settings will be available.
- Adjust any settings in the fullscreen dialog window that appears. This will only apply to the selected game.
We don't provide support trying to figure out the "best" settings for your device, sorry! But there are options...
- Play around with settings and see what works best per game.
- If you use the
Winlatorapp and have a container that suits your needs, take note of the container settings there and apply them either in the Default Config or Per App config. Almost all settings should be exposed for you to tweak. Changing driver versions and settings is still a work in progress. - Subreddits that pertain to Winlator support, showcases, or technical discussions may be best.
