I have started using meta-intel-realsense to provide the librealsense2 recipe for meta-ros (https://github.com/ros/meta-ros).
I noticed that you haven't updated to Whinlatter yet, so I thought I would help by submitting a PR with the changes. The changes are straightforward and don't really require any creativity, so I am happy to relinquish any copyright claims on them. (Notably to avoid having to worry about CLA, etc)
I have build tested them, but have not tried them with my realsense camera yet.
