Btfy is blockchain secured by weather observations ,and aims to solve the problem of high energy consumption associated with Proof of Work (PoW).

Key features are following:

  • Proof of Weather consensus
  • Energy-efficient block production using VDFs
  • Real-world entropy source from weather observations
  • Hash-chain protection against replaying historical weather data

I’m not trying to replace Proof of Work, nor am I trying to prove that this is the future of blockchain.
This project is simply an exploration of a nature-inspired blockchain. My hope is that it can be a small step toward inspiring new ideas and further research.
