The Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard (METS) is a standard for encoding descriptive, administrative, and structural metadata regarding objects within a digital library expressed in XML. Specs can be found on the website the Library of Congress.

The Thoth Wiki has been developed in the context of the COPIM (Community-led Open Publication Infrastructures for Monographs) project.
