Summary

Adds a Zabbix 6.0 template for monitoring Couchbase Elasticsearch Connector through its HTTP Dropwizard metrics endpoint.

Features

  • Multiple connector instances per Zabbix host
  • One HTTP metrics request per connector per polling interval
  • HTTP-only monitoring with no Zabbix agent, container runtime, or external script dependency
  • Connector backlog, Elasticsearch request wait, throughput, write queue, and latency monitoring
  • Reset-safe retry and failure counters
  • Aggregate Couchbase DCP connection health
  • Trigger-focused monitoring
  • Database-conscious history and trend retention
  • Raw metrics JSON is not stored

Tested with

  • Zabbix 6.0.48
  • Couchbase Elasticsearch Connector 4.4.8

Validation

  • Fresh Zabbix 6.0.48 import and native re-export
  • Runtime preprocessing and trigger lifecycle validation
  • Counter reset and throughput reset validation
  • Instance discovery and macro-context validation
  • Graph and dashboard rendering validation
  • Live read-only validation against two Couchbase Elasticsearch Connector 4.4.8 instances
  • Verified one HTTP metrics request per connector per polling interval

Notes

  • Workload-dependent trigger thresholds default to 0 and are disabled until configured.
  • Zabbix Proxy execution has not been explicitly tested.
  • DCP connection monitoring uses a CBES metric that Couchbase does not document as part of its stable monitoring contract.
  • Growing-backlog evaluation requires a warm-up period while the shifted history window is populated.
