- Position: The One Who Doesn't Know Yet
- A bed. The specific objects of a childhood arranged by a child's logic.
- A light left on. There is a reason for this that is not the real reason.
- A wall that is also a floor for sound. The house comes through it at night.
- A door that can be closed but cannot be locked.
- The dark. More inhabited here than in rooms where adults sleep.
- The Thing The Child Carries. It lives here because The One Who Doesn't Know Yet lives here. It has no other address.
- Distance from the house while remaining inside it. The closest thing to outside without leaving.
- The sorting. The One Who Doesn't Know Yet can process here what cannot be processed at the table or in the hall. The processing happens in the body, before sleep, in the particular quality of lying still while the house moves around them.
- What the child has heard. The child has heard everything. The child will not say so because The Silence requires everyone. The child learned this without being taught. This room holds the record of that learning. It does not release it.
