2. Basic Usage & Shortcuts

Ghost Mode gives you absolute control over how your browsing history is managed. Because everyone has different privacy needs, we built two entirely different engines for you to choose from.

You can switch between these modes at any time in the Site Management tab of the Options Dashboard.

Mode 1: Erase Listed Only (Blacklist)

"Keep everything, except these specific sites."

This is the default and most common way to use Ghost Mode. In this mode, your browser acts normally and saves all your history. However, any website you add to this list will be treated as a "Ghost Zone". The moment you visit a site on this list, its history is instantly wiped.

  • Best For: Users who want a normal browsing experience but want to automatically hide specific guilty pleasures, doomscrolling habits, or spoiler-heavy wikis.
  • How the Toggle Works: * 🟢 ON: The current site is ADDED to the erase list. Its history will be wiped.
    • 🔴 OFF: The current site is REMOVED from the erase list. Its history will be saved normally.

Mode 2: Never Erase Listed (Whitelist)

"Erase EVERYTHING, except these specific sites."

This is the extreme privacy mode. In this mode, Ghost Mode goes into overdrive. It will automatically wipe the history of EVERY single website you visit, leaving absolutely no trace of your browsing session. The only exceptions are the websites you explicitly add to this safe list.

  • Best For: Shared computers, intense research sessions, or users who want maximum privacy by default but still need to keep their work, school, or banking history intact.
  • How the Toggle Works (Pay Attention!): * 🟢 ON (Ghost Mode Active): You want to wipe this site. The site is REMOVED from your safe list.
    • 🔴 OFF (Ghost Mode Disabled): You want to save this site. The site is ADDED to your safe list.

Note

⚠️ Important Note: > The lists for these two modes are kept completely separate! Switching from "Erase Listed Only" to "Never Erase Listed" will not delete your previous URLs. They are safely stored, so you can swap between the two modes depending on your daily needs without losing your setups.
