Spidertrons
Note: This page may contain inaccuracies. If you spot something wrong or out of date, please let us know on the Discord server.
The Spidertron is a late-game vehicle that walks on articulated legs, letting it traverse terrain that cars and tanks cannot cross. It is unlocked with space science and is one of the most expensive items in the game to craft. It has a large equipment grid, a sizeable cargo inventory, and fires rockets automatically at nearby enemies using the same aim assist system as the player on foot.
The Spidertron uses the same controls as walking: arrow keys to move, with combat mode (CTRL + SHIFT + I) available for directional aiming and the enemy radar. Unlike cars and tanks, it does not have a turning radius — it steps directly in any direction. See Armor Equipment and Guns for combat controls.
The Spidertron remote is a capsule item that lets you send the Spidertron to a location without being inside it. Outside combat mode, use it with LEFT BRACKET to dispatch the Spidertron to the tile under your cursor. The Spidertron will walk there on its own. You can issue a new destination at any time.
The Spidertron has a large equipment grid and its own power supply. You can install modules such as personal roboports, energy shields, and exoskeletons the same way as personal armor. See Armor Equipment and Guns for equipment grid controls.
