The western Baltic Sea holds a record of what it was and what it is becoming. The Kiel Bight: 25 metres average depth. The Boknis Eck monitoring node recording since 1957. The thermocline that separates the world above from the world below. The organisms that have been here longer than any measurement, longer than any border, longer than any decision about what to do with them.
This world is elegiac. It runs on witness.

The sea is already running. What you bring determines what you find.
The Kiel Bight — the world itself. Thermocline, oxygen gradient, the coast of Schleswig-Holstein behind it. Boknis Eck on the seafloor.
Boknis Eck — fixed point. Recording since 1957. One of the longest continuously operated marine time series stations in the world.
The Oxygen — present everywhere, declining in the deep basins. Cannot announce its own absence.
The Phytoplankton — doubled in biomass over a century. Shifted toward the toxic. Growth that looks like abundance is the symptom, not the recovery.
The Zooplankton — arrives after the bloom has already committed. The timing is the technique. It has never quite worked.
The Blue Mussel — foundational species. Near-disappeared from Kiel Bight. The regime shift happened before anyone named it.
The Eelgrass — habitat-former, carbon sink, fish nursery. Was here. Is retreating.
The Cod — recoverable in principle. Not yet recovered.
The Sprat and Herring — the middle of the food web is the fulcrum. Remove it and both ends fall.
The Harbour Porpoise — the mammal. Visible. Endangered. Arrives last in the chain of collapse.
The Bacteria — they run the process that runs the paradox.
The Eel — crosses an ocean twice in a lifetime. The second crossing is failing.
The Producer — assigned by the Spring and Autumn Blooms. The Grazer — assigned by the Spring and Autumn Blooms. The Fallen — assigned by the Sinking. The Decomposer — assigned by the Sinking and Summer Stratification. The Consumed — assigned by the Summer Stratification and Warming. The Receiver — assigned by the Benthic Coupling. The Feeder — assigned by the food web across all processes. The Witness — assigned to the human who enters with attention.
The Spring Bloom — production that cannot stop once light returns. The Sinking — descent that feeds the floor and starves the water. The Summer Stratification — the seal that cannot be opened until autumn. The Benthic Coupling — the transfer that connects the floor to the surface. The Autumn Bloom — second production into exhausted conditions. The Winter Dormancy — accumulation that makes the next bloom inevitable. The Warming — the driver that distorts all six processes simultaneously.

The term Position is used in place of Role to reflect the ecosystem context — positions in the food web are assigned by processes before any organism arrives, the same way roles are assigned by institutions before any persona arrives. The structure is identical: Has / Orders / Loses / Drives.
This world runs on five components simultaneously: Processes assign Personas to Positions as they run. Places exert pressure on whoever enters them. Pieces travel and carry weight. The interference condition is met — ten Personas with genuinely distinct constitutive blindnesses, seven Processes assigning them to Positions they did not choose. The force field is running. Stay awake.
